Sparring Strategy---devleoping your skills and your favorite techniques

The trouble I used to have when I started sparring was being able to make my favorite techniques land. The problem being when I started I'd try to throw my favorite move (hook kick/ spinning hook Kick) with out any basics in front of it or behind it. who knew a constant jab and round kick are your bread and butter when in comes to setting up your next big move.

Remember to use your jab and round kick much and add 1 move you want to focus on at a time. I found this very useful in making my other techniques work.

simple rules of sparring:

1) move

2) block

3) counter

4) attack (jab, round kick constantly and go from there)

what are some of your favorite techniques?

When sparring it is hard to just remember all your punches. I try to focus on a few well thought out moves that flow for me. Practice them so that they flow without thinking of them. Each time you have mastered a move add another.
